The feeder opening on the lid allows syrup to be poured directly into the feeder without opening the hive.
Thanks to its four-frame capacity, this hive is not intended only for short-term observation, but can also serve as a small nucleus hive for a smaller bee colony.

Optional Outdoor Tube Connection System
The four-frame observation hive is available with an optional external tube connection system, designed for permanent indoor installations in classrooms, museums, and nature centers.
The flexible tube (25mm inner diameter, 2m included) connects the hive to the outside through a wall or window, allowing bees to fly freely in and out while the hive remains safely indoors. The tube locks securely into the entrance port and is tightened with two integrated butterfly screws — no tools required. When the tube is removed, a built-in cover plate automatically drops down and seals the entrance, keeping the hive secure at all times.
This system makes it possible to maintain a live bee colony year-round inside any indoor space, without any risk of bees escaping into the room.
